Buchwald-type Ligands

Dialkylbiaryl monophosphine ligands, commonly referred to as Buchwald-type ligands, have significantly influenced the realm of palladium-catalyzed C-N bond formation since their inception. The predominance of these ligands emanates from abundant factors, including stability, higher reactivity, milder conditions, and an array of variants tailored to diverse substrates. A synopsis comprising 48 such ligands is outlined, offering a cheat sheet for the selection of ligands in Buchwald amination.

Moreover, some of these ligands have also been applied in other types of reactions, such as Suzuki coupling, Sonogashira coupling, and aryl etherification.
